Adarza’s Arrayed Imaging Reflectometry (AIR™) is fundamentally different from competing technologies – instead of amplifying a small signal, we suppress background noise, revealing hidden detail. AIR is based on the observation that the performance of a single layer antireflective coating is highly sensitive to the thickness of the film. This sensitivity increases as the reflectance approaches zero. Therefore, by precisely engineering a substrate with an antireflective coating that approaches zero reflectance, a sensor with the capacity to detect picoscale thickness changes on its surface is formed.
